DO YOU HAVE SOME SPARE TIME EACH WEEK TO HELP SOMEONE IN YOUR COMMUNITY? VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED FOR MUCH WENLOCK & CRESSAGE COMPASSIONATE COMMUNITIES (COCO) - CoCo is a group of volunteers who provide a befriending service to the patient population of Much Wenlock & Cressage Medical Practice who may be lonely, isolated or vulnerable. The services provided are dependent upon the clients needs and skills/availability of volunteers; examples are popping in for a chat, walking pets, taking clients out to do some shopping, helping with the garden, helping with paperwork. Referrals for CoCo are made through by the clinical staff and community care co-ordinator at the practice. All volunteers are required to complete a Disclosure & Barring Scheme application, submit references and under go training.
The number of potential clients who would benefit from CoCo is growing and the group are therefore looking for more volunteers to ensure that they can help as many clients as possible. If you have a couple of hours a week or a fortnight to spare and are interested in helping your community please contact the Practice who will put you in touch with the CoCo co-ordinators who can provide you with more information.
