PUT PATIENTS FIRST - BACK GENERAL PRACTICE CAMPAIGN
The Royal College of General Pracitioners and the National Association for Patient Participation are running a campaign which aims to persuade the government to increase investment in general practice to that practice teams have the resources they need to continue to provide high quality care that patients deserve.
General Practice conducts 90% of patient contacts in the NHS for just 8.39% of the UK NHS Budget
The number of patient consultations in the UK is estimated to rise to an historic high of at least 441m by 2017/18 - up from 388 m in 2013/14 and 327 m in 2008/9 however if current trends continue, general practice will only receive 7.29% of the UK Budget by 2017/18.
GP Surgeries sit at the heart of local communities. Without increased funding the resources will not be available to deliver high quality care to patients.
Please sign the petition available on reception at both practices and support the RCGP and NAPP campaign for increased funding for General Practice.
Leaflets are available in surgery or you can sign the petition online at: www.rcgp.org.uk
