Immunosuppressed Patients: Covid 3rd PRIMARY dose

There are a very small number of patients whom the JCVI and NHS have advised should have a 3rd PRIMARY dose. This should be given at least 8 weeks after the 2nd dose and may need to be given on a specific date in order to fit in with medications or treatments. Patients eligible should be contacted by their hospital consultants and will also be identified by searches in our practice information. If you have been advised to have your 3rd dose on a specific week then it is important to try and make that date.

In order to allow as much flexibility with these appointments dedicated clinics have been set up at PRH, RSH and RJAH. This should ensure there is a clinic available on the exact day you may require. Should we have a clinic available on the date needed then we can also book these with our surgery vaccine clinics.

To look at the clinics available and dates please follow the link you will be sent via text and letter.

Please remember this Third Dose will then be followed with a Booster Dose 6 months (182 days) later.

If you are contacted by us for a 3rd dose but do not understand the reasoning, then please get in touch with the practice so we can look into it for you as the searches use can occasionally identify extra people.
